|Name||Date of Appointment||Term||Governor Type||Business & Pecuniary interests||Bio|
|21/11/17||4 Years||Parent||Wife works at the school||As a professional educator locally at William Farr for the last 25 years it seemed the right thing to do to become a governor when asked. I also know how much my own daughter has benefitted from a small school and wanted to do something to try and maintain that option for others.|

|Michelle Woods||01/03/2015||4 Years||Staff Governor||None||I have been a teacher at Hackthorn CE Primary School since September 2002 and absolutely love it here. The sense of family and the relationships that we build up with children and their families is wonderful. I have been fortunate enough to be a Teacher Governor for many years now and feel that it gives me an extra insight into the running of our very unique school. I have two children of my own, Thomas and Ella and have been married to Adrian since 2003.|

I have lived in the village for six years and feel privileged to be part of this community. I have been a Secondary School English teacher for 15 years and being a governor in a Primary School has given me an engaging new insight into the education of younger students. My own children are grown up and pursuing their chosen careers: one in Graphic Design and one in Physics. When I’m not working, I enjoy gardening, reading and travelling.

|Karen Appleby||01/09/2014||–||By virtue of office as Headteacher||None||From childhood I always knew that I wanted to work with children. Since qualifying as a teacher, I have been fortunate to work in a wide range of mostly ‘Outstanding’ schools. I have always worked closely with Governors and recognise the importance of developing a strong partnership with them. This is crucial for strategic development and leading and driving school improvement.
It is a great privilege to work with such a committed team of governors at Hackthorn CofE Primary School. We work hard to achieve the best for your children and I am very proud of our achievements to date. Nevertheless we must never become complacent so we are always trying to improve.
